Brandwood End Cemetery, with entrances on Woodthorpe Road and Broad Lane is one of the area’s most hidden away green spaces. It is a place of stories, historic and cultural significance and quiet beauty. In early springtime, Mazzy and Ness Star visited the cemetery and toured around with the Chair of the Friends of Brandwood End Cemetery, Jane Edwards, as part of a project to document the groups and places that create Brandwood’s Buzz.
These three short reels will give you some amazing insight if you haven’t already discovered the Cemetery.
Part 1: How the Friends of Brandwood End Cemetery began
Part 2: The realities of maintaining such a vast and historic space.
Part 3: Some facts which helps us appreciate more the historic and cultural significance of the place.
